The Swanage Railway Trust 4TC Group is a dedicated and passionate group focused on the preservation of historic railway equipment based on the Swanage Railway in Dorset. Specifically, we are committed to the restoration and operation of a British Rail Class 491 (later Class 438) "Bournemouth Line" 4TC Multiple Unit. Our 4TC is unit number 413. These iconic trains originally constructed in 1966 & 67, hold a special place in history of the Swanage Railway and represent an important era of the Southern Region of the British Rail system.
